A native of New York City with roots in Texas, Jack came to Austin in 2000 to study architecture at the University of Texas and fell in love with the city and the people of Austin.
In 2005 Jack graduated from UT with his Architecture degree and joined the award-winning firm Cornerstone Architects. He spent the next decade moving from Draftsman to Project Manager to Project Architect while working on hundreds of custom homes and a variety of other projects in and around Austin. While at Cornerstone, Jack earned his Architecture License and also served as Building Manager for the firm’s 25,000 sq. ft. office building.
After 10 years with Cornerstone Architects, Jack founded JH Architecture in 2016 to develop his own architecture practice and refine his craft of designing great homes. In 2019, Jack partnered on his first multi-unit development project on Tillery Street in East Austin. Since then DMJ Development has built 15 new homes and there are many more on the way.
With over 20 years of experience submitting projects to the City of Austin, Jack is an expert at navigating the complex City code. His experience in real estate investment and property management give him a unique skill set and a broad perspective on architectural design. Above all, Jack strives to design beautiful, thoughtful, and functional homes that enrich the lives of their owners and contribute to the vibrant City of Austin.
